TSMC: Nineteen Percent of RevenueNarrow moat

KLA (KLAC) — moat facet

One customer, TSMC by the 10-K's naming, takes about 19% of KLA's revenue, the most concentrated relationship in its books.

KLA's largest customer buys about a fifth of everything KLA sells. The 10-K says that "in each of the fiscal years ended June 30, 2026 and 2025, one customer accounted for" about 19% of total revenue, and names Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as the only customer above 10% in fiscal 2024 to 20261.

Between 13% and 23% for eleven years.

The concentration has held for a decade. TSMC was among KLA's customers above 10% of revenue in fiscal 2015, 2016 and 20172, and again in fiscal 2019 and 202034. In the quarter to March 2026 two customers took 19% and 11% of revenue5.

Geography confirms it. Revenue shipped to Taiwan was $3,643.7 million in fiscal 2026, 26.8% of the total6.

For KLA the relationship is both anchor and exposure. TSMC runs the most advanced logic nodes, which need the most inspection, and its investment decisions set the pace of the leading edge. A customer this large also negotiates as one.

The quarter-by-quarter figure moves more than the annual one. In the nine months to March 2026 one customer took 17% of revenue, and in the quarter to March 2025 one took 23%7. A single customer's orders can add or subtract several points of KLA's revenue in a quarter, which is why the annual 19% understates how much the largest customer can move the numbers.

The top customer's weight has ranged widely over the decade. The largest single customer took 23% of revenue in fiscal 20178, 20% in fiscal 2020 and fiscal 20229, 13% in fiscal 2024 and 19% in fiscal 202610. The filings do not always say which company held the top place, but the range is the exposure.

Taiwan's share of KLA's revenue went from about 18% in fiscal 2024 to about 26% in fiscal 2025 and 27% in fiscal 202611.

This page is about revenue. The order book is a separate question, argued on A $12.6 Billion Backlog, a $1.8 Billion Contract Figure. The revenue test is the one-customer share: above 25% would make KLA a supplier to one company with others attached; below 13%, the fiscal 2024 level, would say TSMC had slowed.

Moat trajectory: Holding steady

One customer at about 19% in both FY2025 and FY2026.
