The NHS and the Allied GovernmentsNarrow moat

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) — moat facet

Allied governments, led by Britain's health service, have become Palantir's fastest-growing business outside America.

Outside the United States, Palantir's government business is growing faster than its commercial one. International government revenue was $219.2 million in 2021 and $547.3 million in 20251, up about 47% in the last year2. In the second quarter of 2026 it grew 42% to $181 million3.

Two and a half times larger in four years.

The largest single foreign customer is the British state. In November 2023 NHS England awarded Palantir the Federated Data Platform contract, reported as "Palantir lands £330 million NHS" contract4. Revenue from the United Kingdom as a whole was $427.4 million in 2025, 10% of Palantir's total5.

Management frames the opportunity as sovereignty. Alex Karp said in the second-quarter release: "Demand for AI sovereignty has now been unleashed."6 Allied governments that want their own capabilities, rather than depending on another country's cloud, are buying the platform directly.

Government customers abroad share the traits of those at home: long relationships, sensitive data and high costs to switch. They also share the risks of budgets and politics, and a foreign vendor carries a political risk a domestic one does not.

British revenue has grown fast even as its share fell. Revenue from the United Kingdom rose from $235.3 million in 2023 to $427.4 million in 20257, up about 82%8. Allied governments tend to buy slowly and then stay, and the British numbers show both.

International government growth is the figure that tests this facet abroad. It has run above 40% for a year910; a fall back to the low twenties of 2023 and 2024 would say the sovereignty demand was a surge rather than a shift.
