✦ $7.5 Billion of AI Revenue in Fiscal 2027Narrow moat

Cisco Systems (CSCO) — the future bets

Cisco has already booked more AI orders than the $7.5 billion of AI revenue it expects in fiscal 2027.

Cisco's biggest bet is that it can nearly double its AI infrastructure revenue in one year. It delivered about $4 billion in fiscal 2026 and expects $7.5 billion in fiscal 20271. On the call the finance chief put the fiscal 2026 figure at about $3.8 billion2.

Hyperscaler AI infrastructure ($bn)about 4FY26 revenue9.3FY26 orders7.5FY27 revenue targetCisco Q4 FY2026 results release
The target is below the orders already taken.

The orders support it. Cisco took $9.3 billion of AI infrastructure orders from hyperscalers in fiscal 20263, so the fiscal 2027 target is less than the orders already booked.

The products are Silicon One systems and optics, including the P200, for which Cisco reported three design wins with three different hyperscalers4.

The margin cost will come with it. The Americas segment gross margin fell 3.1 points in fiscal 202656 as hyperscaler revenue grew from under 2% to about 6% of the total7. At about a tenth of revenue8, the effect grows.

The first quarter of fiscal 2027 is guided to revenue of $18.0 billion to $18.2 billion9, up about 21.6% on the $14,883 million of the first quarter of fiscal 20261011. Much of that step is expected to come from AI shipments against orders already taken.

The call put the base slightly lower than the release. The finance chief described the $7.5 billion as up from approximately $3.8 billion in fiscal 202612, which would make the target a doubling13. Either way the step is larger than any single line's growth in fiscal 2026 except networking's.

This bet is well supported by orders and exposed to a few buyers' budgets. AI revenue by quarter will tell; reaching an annual pace of $7.5 billion by the second half of fiscal 2027 would confirm it, while a flat first half would say orders were pulled forward.
