✦ Securing AI: Glasswing, TAC and QuiltWorksThin moat

CrowdStrike (CRWD) — the future bets

CrowdStrike has put itself beside OpenAI and Anthropic as the security layer for AI, without yet disclosing a dollar of AI revenue.

CrowdStrike's newest pitch is that artificial intelligence needs a security vendor, and that it should be that vendor. The chief executive called the first quarter of fiscal 2027 "the Mythos moment"1 and said in August that it "translated into mass-market acceptance that AI adoption needs security"2.

Growth accelerated in the quarters linked to AI.

The partnerships are real. CrowdStrike says it was "The only cybersecurity company selected as a launch partner in both" Anthropic's Project Glasswing and OpenAI's Trusted Access for Cyber programmes3, a claim the company makes and this page cannot test. It launched Project QuiltWorks, a coalition "featuring OpenAI and Anthropic"4, and a Charlotte AI AgentWorks ecosystem "created with AWS, NVIDIA, and OpenAI"5. In the second quarter it extended its AI detection and response product to eight AI gateway partners, including Databricks, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure6.

It has also bought capability. Pangea Cyber, acquired for $212.1 million in September 20257, secures AI applications.

What the company has not done is size the business. No AI security revenue or ARR figure appears in the results. The evidence is indirect: net new ARR grew 32% in the first quarter8 and 51% in the second9, the quarters the chief executive links to AI.

The partner list keeps lengthening. In the second quarter CrowdStrike also announced a strategic collaboration with Cerebras Systems, pairing its platform with fast AI inference for enterprises10. Each partnership is a distribution route; none yet comes with a disclosed revenue figure.

For the moat, AI is both a customer and a threat. Every AI agent is another identity and another workload for the sensor to watch. It is also a tool attackers use, and a set of labs large enough to build security themselves. Net new ARR growth, 51% in the latest quarter, is the only public test; a fall back toward the 20s while the AI story continues would mean the partnerships generate announcements faster than revenue.

Moat trajectory: Widening

Net new ARR +32% (Q1 FY2027) and +51% (Q2 FY2027).

The only public read on the AI demand management describes; a fall back toward the 20s would mean announcements outrun revenue.
