Schwarz Digits: The Partner That Sold It a RivalNarrow moat

CrowdStrike (CRWD) — moat facet

Schwarz Digits owned a product that competed with CrowdStrike and chose to sell it to CrowdStrike and carry the Falcon platform into Europe instead.

The strangest competitive relationship on this page is with a partner. In the quarter to 31 July 2026 CrowdStrike "Expanded strategic partnership with Schwarz Digits, launching a multi-year roadmap to bring the AI-native Falcon" platform to European enterprises1, and in the same announcement agreed to buy the technology assets of XM Cyber, "a Schwarz Digits company that provides advanced attack path visualization and offensive simulation technologies"2.

Europe grew faster than the home market.

XM Cyber sold exposure management, one of the markets CrowdStrike already lists among its own3. So Schwarz Digits owned a product that competed with a CrowdStrike module, and chose to sell it to CrowdStrike and distribute the Falcon platform instead. The consideration is $145.0 million in cash and shares, plus further shares set at closing, with completion expected in the second half of fiscal 20274.

The prize is Europe, where CrowdStrike is growing fastest. Revenue from Europe, the Middle East and Africa was $782.7 million in fiscal 2026, 16% of the total5, and grew about 26.3%, against about 19.9% in the United States6. No single country other than the United States reached 10% of revenue7.

The arrangement shows a pattern that can recur. A company that owns a regional distribution business and a competing product can decide that selling the product and carrying CrowdStrike pays better than fighting it. That is a compliment to the platform. It also makes a European partner part of the sales channel, with the leverage any large partner has.

The test is whether Europe keeps outgrowing the United States. EMEA revenue growth of about 26.3% in fiscal 2026 against 19.9% at home is the gap to watch; if it closes once the partnership is running, the roadmap has not opened the market it was bought to open.

The market the partnership is meant to open; the gap closing once it runs would mean it opened nothing new.
