The home market grew slowest.

Growth varied by region. UCAN rose 10% to $5,432 million, EMEA 14% to $4,034 million, LATAM 21% to $1,584 million and APAC 16% to $1,510 million4. The company said UCAN reflected only a partial quarter of its recent price change5.

Cash was weaker. Free cash flow was $1,525 million against $2,267 million a year earlier6, with operating cash flow reduced by "higher cash tax payments due in part to the Warner Bros. termination fee"7 and $729 million of Brazilian tax payments in the half8. Additions to content assets rose 28%910.

Netflix bought back $4.7 billion of stock, "our largest quarter of share repurchases"11, and narrowed its 2026 revenue forecast to $51.0 to $51.4 billion12. It guided the third quarter to $12,860 million of revenue and a 33.2% margin13.

The quarter's cost lines were steady. Cost of revenues was $6.04 billion and content amortization $4,311 million on revenue of $12,560 million14. Over the first half the operating margin was 32.8%15, ahead of the 31.5% full-year target, and free cash flow $6,619 million including the termination fee16. Netflix also said it would re-test free trials outside the United States and Britain17, a small sign that it wants more members as well as more revenue per member.

The first quarter had carried the one-off. Net income was $5,283 million and diluted earnings $1.23 a share in the first quarter, including the $2.8 billion termination fee1819, against $3,401 million and $0.80 in the second. The second quarter is the cleaner view of the business's earning power, and it grew net income 8.8% on the prior year's $3,125 million20.

The quarter confirms the margin story and questions the growth one. The next check is third-quarter revenue growth against the 11.7% guide; beating it would say the price change is landing without cost.
