⚠ Growth Is Slowing Into the Price RisesHigh threat

Netflix (NFLX) — threat to the moat

Netflix's revenue growth has fallen from 17.6% to a guided 11.7% in four quarters, while it raises prices and no longer reports members.

Netflix's revenue growth is slowing, and it is slowing while prices rise. Revenue grew 17.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, 16.2% in the first quarter of 2026 and 13.4% in the second, and the third quarter is guided to 11.7%1. The full-year guide is 13% to 14%, about 12% at constant currency2.

Down for three quarters running.

The slowdown is sharpest in the most important region. UCAN revenue growth went from 18% to 14% to 10%3, even as a price change began to take effect4.

Netflix no longer reports member counts, so the cause cannot be seen directly5. The one-time lift from paid sharing has passed, and view hours are growing only about 2%6. What remains is price, advertising and new territory.

Slower growth matters because the valuation assumed more. The shares fell about 41% in a year7, and analysts cut targets on engagement worries8.

The first half already shows the arithmetic. Revenue for the six months to June 2026 was $24,810 million9, 48.5% of the midpoint of the full-year guide10, so the second half must grow faster in dollars to meet it. Netflix narrowed that guide in July to $51.0 to $51.4 billion from $50.7 to $51.7 billion11, cutting the top of the range. A company confident of accelerating demand does not usually trim the upper end of its forecast.

Constant-currency guidance makes the slowdown look sharper. Netflix's 2026 guide of 13% to 14% growth is about 12% excluding currency12, against 17% at constant currency in 202513. Stripping out exchange rates, the underlying pace has fallen by about five points in a year.

The third-quarter result against the 11.7% guide comes first. A result below 10% would say price rises have started to cost members, the one thing Netflix's model cannot absorb.
