Revenue was $11,104 million, up 22% and 12% organically1: equipment $6,459 million and services $4,645 million2. Operating income was $653 million against $378 million, and net income attributable $668 million, $2.47 a diluted share against $1.863.

Two segments near 19%, one still losing.

Orders were the headline: $24.2 billion, up 88% organically4. Gas turbine orders were 113 units, 12.1 gigawatts, against 47 units a year earlier5, and the gas turbine backlog rose from 44 to 53 gigawatts while slot reservations rose from 56 to 636. Total backlog rose $13.0 billion in the quarter to $176.3 billion7.

The segments diverged. Power earned $1,031 million of EBITDA on $5,477 million of revenue, 18.8%; Electrification $671 million on $3,637 million, 18.4%; Wind lost $275 million on $2,026 million8. Adjusted EBITDA was $1,250 million, an 11.3% margin9.

Cash was the surprise. Free cash flow was $5,107 million in the quarter and $9,897 million in the half, more than all of 202510. The company raised its 2026 guidance to revenue of $45.5-46.5 billion and free cash flow of $11.5-12.5 billion11, and bought back 2.5 million shares for $2.3 billion12.

Since the quarter ended, GE Vernova named Claire McDonough to succeed Kenneth Parks as chief financial officer from 1 January 202713, and settled with Vineyard Wind14.

The quarter also carried portfolio moves. GE Vernova monetized about $0.6 billion of its stake in China XD Electric in the second quarter, after about $0.2 billion in the first15, made a voluntary pension contribution of about $0.5 billion16, and completed the purchase of Robotech Automation in July17. Gas turbine sales in the quarter were 29 units, 3.3 gigawatts18.

The raised guidance was specific by segment. For 2026 the company now expects Power to grow 18% to 20% organically at a 17%-19% EBITDA margin, Electrification revenue of $14.5-15.0 billion at an 18%-20% margin, and Wind organic revenue down by a low double-digit percentage with an EBITDA loss of about $400 million19.

The third-quarter report, due on 28 October20, will test whether the orders hold. Orders of $24.2 billion were 41% of all of 2025's in a single quarter21; a third quarter far below that pace would suggest the second was a peak rather than a run rate.
