Exclusivity keeps other da Vinci sellers out of Poland, not other robots.

Exclusivity protects Synektik from other da Vinci sellers, not from other robots. In the first half of 2022 five CMR Versius robots appeared in Polish hospitals while only two new sites began operating a da Vinci1. The report that counted them put it down to financing: leasing, deferred payment and settlement per procedure removed the need for a one-off outlay of at least 10 million złoty2.

One half-year when the rival sold more.

Medtronic's Hugo followed. Its first clinical use in Poland was on 9 December 2024, in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, and by October 2025 it was installed in four hospitals3. A public tender is a price competition in its final stage, and a second credible robot turns a hospital's specification into a negotiation.

So far the rivals have not changed the scale of the market. Synektik reported 83 da Vinci robots working in Poland in January 20264, and in more than 70 hospitals5.

Public money now funds the rivals as well. The fourth Polish Hugo, installed at the provincial hospital in Łomża in October 2025, was an investment of more than 10 million złoty financed by the National Recovery Plan6, the source that also financed oncology equipment tenders Synektik won7. The same hospital had signed a contract with Synektik for an angiograph in July 20258: a Synektik customer for imaging chose Medtronic for its robot.

Count rival robots installed each year against Synektik's placements, 28 in nine months9. While the second number is several times the first, exclusivity is doing its job.
