Synektik's tracer rivals are two private producers and four public plants, and the fight is over the basic product.

In radiopharmaceuticals Synektik competes in the ordinary way, with its own product, on price and service. Poland has nine cyclotrons producing tracers for PET scans: five private, three of them Synektik's, and four bought and installed by public bodies1.

Flat in the commodity, growing in the licensed products.

The basic tracer is the contested ground. Every PET centre needs it and every licensed producer can make it. Synektik's basic radiopharmaceuticals were 25,8 million złoty of sales in the year to September 20252 and 7,2 million złoty in the April-June 2026 quarter, up only 0,1 million złoty3. Special radiopharmaceuticals, where Synektik has product licences, grew 88% in the same quarter4.

Distance limits competition. A tracer made in the morning has to be injected the same day, so each producer serves a region, and Synektik's three plants in Kielce, Warsaw and Mszczonów5 give it coverage a single rival cannot match. A public cyclotron, though, need not earn a return.

Synektik's size in the segment is also a function of its product licences. Of its nine radiopharmaceuticals6, the special ones are where competitors cannot simply match it; they rose 32% to a record 6,3 million złoty in the half-year to March 20267.

Basic tracer sales per quarter are the measure. Flat for long while PET studies grow8 would say rivals were taking the growth.
