BlackRock ended June 2026 with $15.3 trillion under management, against $13.9 trillion three months earlier1 — a $1.5 trillion increase in a quarter, most of it markets.

Q2 2026 long-term net inflows by channel ($bn)$178bnETFs$19bnRetail$2bnInstitutionalTotal $199bn; revenue $7,084m up 31%, performance fees $305m against $94m
Eighty-nine percent of the quarter's new long-term money came through one channel, and institutional clients supplied one percent of it.

Revenue was $7,084 million, up 31% from $5,423 million a year earlier2. Base fees and securities lending were $5,726 million3. Operating income reached $2,461 million against $1,731 million4, and net income attributable to BlackRock was $1,914 million with diluted earnings per share of $12.19 against $10.195.

Two lines deserve more attention than the headline. Performance fees were $305 million against $94 million a year earlier6 — more than triple, and the clearest evidence yet that the private-markets acquisitions are producing the second revenue stream they were bought for. Technology and subscription revenue was $566 million7, continuing at a run rate above $2 billion a year.

The flow composition is the quarter's real story. Long-term net inflows were $199 billion, of which $178 billion came from ETFs, $19 billion from retail and $2 billion from institutional clients8. Eighty-nine percent of the firm's new long-term money arrived through one channel. That is the mix shift working — ETFs are the better-paid end of the index business, at 42% of long-term assets and 45% of long-term base fees9 — and it is also a demonstration of how narrow the growth has become. Institutional clients, who supply the majority of the assets, contributed $2 billion.

The share count keeps rising. Diluted shares including Subco units were 164.6 million against 156.3 million a year earlier10, with 154,996,807 shares of common stock actually outstanding at the end of June11. The gap is the HPS consideration, and it will close as those units are exchanged.

One item in the six-month figures is worth flagging because it flatters them: a $538 million reduction in the fair value of contingent consideration12, which is a gain running through the income statement. It reflects a revised estimate of what BlackRock expects to pay out on acquisition earn-outs, not anything the operating business did — and an earn-out estimate falling is not unambiguously good news about the acquisitions it relates to.

Six-month revenue was $13,782 million with operating income of $5,275 million and net income of $4,126 million, or $26.25 per diluted share13. Annualise the second quarter and the company is running at roughly $28 billion of revenue and a $10 billion operating profit, against a market value near $173 billion14.
